Top 3 Drugstore Mascaras

People continue to ask me if I am going to post about prestige cosmetics as well as the lower more 'mass' brands carried at drugstores. I'm going to be honest. In MOST cases, I believe you get what you pay for when it comes to quality. That being said, there are some products that I have come past in which you can get away with paying less, and getting an equally decent product. Below you will find my picks for the top 3 drugstore mascaras. Enjoy!

Covergirl Full Lash Bloom Mascara.jpg

Covergirl Full Lash Bloom Mascara

This is actually a new product from Covergirl. I was given one to try from the company and was genuinely impressed. What I like about the brush is that it's similar to the brush on the Benefit They're Real Mascara; in every way. What you'll usually see is a company try and make a similar brush to one that is very popular; but it will lack in strength and sturdiness. This brush is a plastic applicator that is not flimsy nor bendable. The formula is also very nice, it simply doesn't clump and makes each lash appear longer. The only complaint I have about this mascara is that you really have to layer it in order to achieve an ample, full finish. It is long-wearing but may lack in volume if you're looking for something dramatic.

Marcelle Twist Push-Up Mascara

I tried this product last year. I was in between purchasing my regular mascara when I was given this mascara to try and once again, I was impressed. One of the reasons I thought that this mascara was a little different from the many that I have tried in the past was the transformable brush. At the base of the wand, you have the option to twist the applicator and cause the brush to pull closer together. By doing this you are able to achieve more volume from base to tip. Again, the applicator is plastic yet firm. The only complaint I have about this mascara is that by the end of the day, I found sometimes I would notice it began to flake. That being said, it does last all day - but if you find that you have trouble with mascara transferring beneath your eyes, this isn't the product for you.

OW Fake Out Mascara.jpg

Physicians Formula Organic Wear Fake Out Mascara

I chose to include this product in this article because I find that I get many customers asking me for organic makeup. I always say that ingredients are important and you should know that this mascara is made 100% from natural origin. It is also hypoallergenic, fragrance-free and safe for sensitive eyes including contact lens wearers. The mascara creates great volume, length and curl. My only complaint about the brush is that it is quite large; making it harder to get into small, hard to reach areas. If you are someone who is constantly struggling to find a product that does not irritate your eyes, I suggest you give this a try. Overall, a great mascara.

Thanks for reading beauty lovers!

Stay tuned,

dear lady
