Good afternoon readers! Today's post will be short and sweet; I simply want to touch on a new trend that is becoming increasingly popular. Although the idea may sound bizarre to some people, blue lipsticks are starting to be seen more in the media and in the makeup world. As of right now, there are still not many options if you are looking to purchase one of these cool shades. I have done some shopping around and have also tried numerous products myself; in search of the perfect blue lipstick. Below you will find three products I would recommend if you are feeling brave enough to give this flashy new trend a try! Enjoy!
Ardency Inn "Black is Blue" Lip Colour
When I tried this lipstick, the first thing I noticed is how smoothly it applied onto my lips. This is a lipstick that is going to have incredible lasting power without feeling dry. Silky and smooth like a balm, this full coverage shade delivers rich, intense colour while protecting and nourishing the lips all day long. A combination of essential oils and waxes ensures a long-lasting result that won’t feather or transfer. It comes in a sleek, high-gloss metallic case with a magnetic closure. Also, I want to mention that even though it feels creamy like a balm, it has a flawless matte finish. Available at Sephora, $26.
Kat Von D "Poe" Studded Kiss Lipstick
I am a huge fan of these lipsticks, period. They are available in numerous shades and finishes, and will last a whopping 10 hours. They are the perfect choice if you're looking to make a statement; as the shades are highly pigmented and insanely bold. They are formulated with Colour Cushion Technology that combines one-swipe payoff, with velvet touch comfort. This colour-true lipstick leaves lips supple and stunning. What I love about this shade is that it has a metallic finish and the colour simply doesn't budge. Available at Sephora, $26.
Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics "RX" Lip Tar
While the last two lipsticks I showed you were deep, almost navy shades - this lacquer differs in hue and brightness. I would compare this shade to more of a classic 'royal' blue, as it definitely appears bright and electric on the lips. I have talked about lip tars in the past and have often compared them to paint. I would highly suggest purchasing a lip primer before you apply any lip tar because if you don't... the colour will be nearly impossible to get off of your lips. Trust me. If you're new to this whole blue lipstick trend, I would avoid trying this shade first due to the fact that it is the most vibrant shade I have shown you. Furthermore, the formula combines the longevity of a lipstick with the breezy application of a gloss. The rich pigment will drench your pout and the blend of essential oils, including hemp and peppermint, will soothe and soften the skin for a supremely comfortable finish. Each lip tar comes with a vinyl carrying case and mini lip brush. This product is 100% vegan and has a bold, matte finish. Available at Sephora, $22.
That's it for today beauty lovers!
Stay Tuned,
dear lady
